Laura Shapiro is an author based in New York City. Ms. Shapiro was a writer at Newsweek for over fifteen years and has written for many publications, including The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and Gourmet. Her latest book, a biography of Julia Child, was published in 2007. She is also a member of the Rush Hour Advisory Committee.
